It’s not a case of wine, but a package of paper It’s not a case of wine, but a package of paper from Margaux! Some sheets deliciously tinted with Bordeaux lees and pomace, but my favorite (for the moment at least) is the Turner Grey. I’ve not had such paper joy since NY Central closed its doors. So happy it arrived safely in spite of the deluge yesterday. Thank you @ruscombepaper_usbarts (and a p.s. though impossible to photograph a paper named 1725 is the most surprising warm chromatic grey - made from XVIIIth century rags)

Jane South at Spencer Brownstone, Dahlia Elsayed and Austin Thomas at Morgan Lehman, and last but not least, Joan Semmel at Alexander Gray. Truly thrilling to see such bold moves with the brush and the always unflinching eye trained on the self - inspiring!

Guston in DC. Visiting Washington is a return, so Guston in DC. Visiting Washington is a return, so considering Guston’s painterly alphabet or symbolics takes on another level. What would it mean to ‘return’ to my own childhood stories and the markers of events or traumas? What would it look like to give form to that formlessness?
Took my class to the natural history museum today. Took my class to the natural history museum today. I’d forgotten how much cool stuff there is to look at. From the eerie perspective of the dioramas, to Nabokov’s butterfly collection. Yet never felt so haunted by thoughts of extinction. Thought of you @jnacoburn 🎨
